Assessment of Diastolic Parameters and Left Ventricular Diastolic Function
The micro-course "Hands-on: Assessment of Diastolic Parameters and Left Ventricular Diastolic Function" has been developed specifically for ultrasound diagnostics physicians seeking a deeper understanding and mastery of cardiac diastolic function assessment. This course will immerse you in a comprehensive analysis of left ventricular diastolic function, providing valuable knowledge and practical skills to improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases.

The course includes the following key topics:

1. Measurement of mitral-septal separation: You will learn to measure the distance between the mitral valve and the interventricular septum in diastole, which is an important parameter for assessing diastolic function.

2. Measurement of the left atrium (disk summation method - Simpson): Study the technique for accurate measurement of left atrial volume, a key indicator of diastolic function and heart failure.

3. Split flow (split flow in the 3C view): You will master techniques for identifying and analyzing split flow in the tricuspid valve view, which will assist in diagnosing complex cases of diastolic dysfunction.

4. Calculation of the left ventricular performance index (MPI/Tei): You will learn to calculate this comprehensive parameter, which assesses both systolic and diastolic function of the left ventricle, providing an integrated picture of cardiac performance.

5. Measurement of E-wave velocity: Study methods for measuring the velocity of early diastolic filling of the mitral valve, which is important for determining the grade of diastolic dysfunction.

6. Assessment of pulmonary venous flow: You will master techniques for measuring flow through the pulmonary veins, which is critical for assessing left atrial pressure and the overall status of cardiac diastolic function.

This microcourse combines theoretical knowledge with practical exercises, enabling participants to apply the studied methods and techniques in practice. It is intended for ultrasound physicians who already have experience performing echocardiographic examinations and seek to expand their competencies in the assessment of cardiac diastolic function.
