Our micro-course is designed to help physicians systematize their knowledge of modern contraceptive methods and master practical algorithms for counseling female patients in various clinical situations.

In this course, you will study the following key aspects:

1. Modern contraceptive methods: you will become familiar with the classification and principles of action of hormonal, non-hormonal, barrier, and physiological methods, as well as the options for emergency contraception and LARC (long-acting reversible methods).

2. Criteria for selecting a method: you will master the algorithm for evaluating and counseling female patients and learn to select the optimal method depending on a woman’s age, comorbidities, reproductive plans, and lifestyle.

3. Special clinical situations: you will study approaches to contraception in PCOS, endometriosis, PMS, obesity, during lactation and perimenopause, as well as methods for managing side effects and caring for women with a complicated medical history.

4. Counseling practice: you will learn to conduct a dialogue with the patient in a way that enables shared selection of a contraceptive method, takes into account her preferences and expectations, improves adherence to therapy, and prevents errors in the use of contraceptive methods.

5. Algorithms and physician tools: you will receive clear recommendations on initiating and switching methods, and will also review situations involving emergency contraception and an extended medication regimen; access to tables of eligibility criteria, clinical and pharmacological characteristics of hormonal contraceptives, data on therapeutic and preventive effects, algorithms for managing abnormal uterine bleeding and transitioning to MHT, and a list of medications registered in the Russian Federation.
